About The Role
The Head of Marketing is a senior strategic leader responsible for driving our global marketing vision while being deeply embedded in our core regions — with a specific focus on France, Germany, the US, and Europe more broadly.
You will act as a full member of Matomo’s global Senior Leadership Team (SLT), sitting alongside our Country Sales Leaders as part of Matomo’s most senior Go-To-Market (GTM) leadership team.
Together, you will lead a critical transition — evolving Matomo’s growth strategy from primarily product-led growth (PLG) to a sales-led growth (SLG) model focused on enterprise customers and key Ideal Customer Profiles (ICPs).
You will be instrumental in embedding Matomo’s localisation strategy, ensuring all messaging, campaigns, and positioning resonate authentically within key regions, and in championing customer obsession across the marketing organisation.
You will also develop and execute strategies to market to Matomo’s 250,000+ existing customers and global community, strengthening retention, engagement, loyalty, and expansion.
Your mission is to position Matomo as the leading ethical analytics choice for enterprise buyers — shaping brand, product marketing, demand generation, regional campaigns, customer marketing, and community engagement while fostering tight collaboration with Product, Sales, and Customer Success teams.
This is not a transitional or temporary presence — it’s a strategic, embedded leadership role designed to create lasting, scalable impact, strengthen Matomo’s voice in key markets, and directly influence how we go to market globally and regionally.
What You'll Lead and Execute
Regional Market Leadership & GTM Strategy
Act as a full member of Matomo’s global Senior Leadership Team (SLT), alongside Country Sales Leaders and Customer Success headsDrive stronger regional alignment across GTM teams (Marketing, Sales, Customer Success)Lead the marketing strategy that supports Matomo’s transition from product-led growth (PLG) to sales-led growth (SLG), focused on enterprise ICPsBuild deep relationships with customers, analysts, agencies, media, and industry bodiesLead positioning strategies tailored to buyer needs in France, Germany, the US, and other key marketsRepresent Matomo at key customer, partner, and industry events
Product Marketing, Customer Marketing & Positioning
Lead global and regional go-to-market execution for features, product releases, and use casesShape differentiated value propositions for enterprise buyers across priority sectorsDevelop and deliver customer marketing programs that nurture and engage Matomo’s 250,000+ customers and communityTranslate customer insights into compelling messaging, content, and enablement toolsBuild localisation frameworks aligned to cultural, language, and compliance needs
Demand Generation & Pipeline Growth
Design and lead a high-performance demand generation engine to drive measurable pipeline growthBuild and optimise account-based, multi-channel, and lifecycle marketing campaignsStrengthen marketing-to-sales handoffs, improving MQL to SQL conversion ratesContinuously track KPIs across pipeline contribution, revenue attribution, and campaign success
Content, Brand, Localisation, and Community Engagement
Lead a global content strategy that reflects our brand, drives engagement, and supports buyer enablement across all stages of the customer journeyOwn and drive Matomo’s localisation strategy, ensuring marketing initiatives are adapted for France, Germany, the US, and other target marketsCreate content and campaigns that strengthen engagement and loyalty within Matomo’s existing customer and community baseDevelop thought leadership assets amplifying Matomo’s ethical, privacy-first positioningChampion customer obsession by embedding the customer voice into all messaging and campaigns
Team Leadership & Organisational Collaboration

Minimum Qualifications
15+ years of marketing experience, with 10+ years in senior leadership rolesProven experience leading marketing through a transition from product-led growth (PLG) to sales-led growth (SLG).Deep expertise in SaaS marketing, enterprise demand generation, and product positioningHands-on expertise in lead generation, pipeline acceleration, ABM, and lifecycle marketingStrong track record supporting complex enterprise sales cycles and strategic GTM partnershipsExperience with data-driven SaaS products, marketing tech, or analytics platformsDemonstrated success in localising brand and product messaging across regional marketsProven ability to embed customer obsession into marketing operations and strategyHands-on experience with marketing automation tools (HubSpot preferred)Fluent in English and proficient in either French or German (spoken and written)

Experience running global GTM enablement strategies across multiple regionsKnowledge of EU data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, ePrivacy) and their impact on marketing

About The Role
This is a strategic, customer-facing role focused on discovering and delivering high-impact solutions for our most complex enterprise users, partners, and community.
Grounded in human-centred design and design thinking principles, you’ll bring structured creativity and deep empathy to solve real user problems — from discovery through delivery.
You’ll collaborate closely with senior leaders, development teams, and Product Owners to shape Matomo’s enterprise roadmap, while spending time in the field connecting directly with decision-makers, users, and partners.
You’ll champion the voice of the customer throughout the product lifecycle, using design thinking methodologies (empathise, define, ideate, prototype, test) to de-risk product decisions and build solutions people truly want and need.
