This position is part of Cepheid’s Infectious Disease Medical and Scientific Affairs group and is located remotely in Germany.
As Director of Medical Affairs in Germany, you will be responsible for activities in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).
You will have the opportunity to:
Participate in scientific meetings engaging senior KOLs, healthcare providers, and customers.Demonstrate expertise in infectious disease, clinical microbiology, and related disciplines.Serve as a resource to the medical/scientific community, including clinicians, laboratory personnel, infection control, pharmacists, and researchers.Develop understanding of the global health environment related to diagnostics.Build and maintain a broad network within relevant stakeholder communities.Collaborate on independent studies to generate evidence, expand product footprint, and support research initiatives.Work independently with guidance on complex problems.Gain expertise in molecular diagnostics applications.Stay updated with scientific literature, guidelines, and healthcare trends.Identify research gaps, support clinical trials, investigator-initiated research, and provide insights for product development.Communicate scientific insights and unmet needs to inform product design and implementation.The essential requirements include:
Medical Degree (MD) with specialization in infectious diseases, microbiology, or infection prevention, with 8+ years of related experience. Other clinical fields may be considered if infectious disease familiarity is sufficient.Strong scientific writing, publication record, and excellent communication skills, including national/international speaking experience.Proven ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills, in a multicultural, matrix environment.Fluency in German and excellent English communication and presentation skills.Willingness and ability to travel (up to 60%, regional and international).Additional preferred experience includes:
3+ years in Medical and Scientific Affairs.Experience in diagnostics studies in infectious diseases in Germany.Clinical trials management experience.Biostatistics knowledge.Regulatory familiarity with on-market diagnostics.Join us to accelerate the impact of science and technology. Maintain knowledge of relevant scientific literature, clinical practice guidelines, and emerging healthcare trends. Identify research gaps; support sponsored clinical trials, investigator-initiated research, Advisory Boards and Focus Groups to assist Marketing in product development. Communicate insights from the medical/scientific community about unmet clinical or diagnostic needs and provide scientific input on product design, development, and implementation.
